Durga Temple
at Kurichi houses a very rare murti of Goddess Durga. The murti here is made of
Navapashana – containing 9 herbal ingredients. The murti worshipped in the
temple has 18 hands (ashtadasaujam). It is seated on a lion and is 12 feet
tall.
The murti worshipped in the temple is believed to have the
combined energy of Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswathi.
The Vinayaka murti in the temple is located under a
Rudraksha Tree.
The widespread belief is that Mother Goddess here cures
serious illness. People also pray here to get rid of marriage delays and child
birth.
